Nageen Lake

 Location & Accessibility

Nigeen Lake is located adjacent to the Hari Parbat hillock, to the west of Dal Lake. It is connected to Dal Lake via a narrow strait, making it easily accessible by road and water. The lake is surrounded by the localities of Baghwanpora, Lal Bazar, and Hazratbal, which is known for the famous Hazratbal Shrine.

Flanked by beautiful willow and poplar trees, Nigeen Lake offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Zabarwan Mountain Range. The lake's relatively clear waters and serene environment make it ideal for swimming and other water activities.

Best Time to Visit

The lake is a year-round destination, each season offering a unique charm. However, the months from April to October are considered ideal due to pleasant weather conditions. 

Getting There

Nigeen Lake is approximately 6.5 kilometers from the main city of Srinagar and about 17 kilometers from the Srinagar Airport. Visitors can reach the lake via taxis, buses, or even by a Shikara ride from Dal Lake, which takes less than two hours.
