Habba Kadal is one of the oldest bridges in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
"Habba Kadal" literally means "Habba Bridge" — named after Habba Khatoon, a famous 16th-century Kashmiri poetess and queen. It spans the Jhelum River and connects two parts of old Srinagar city. The bridge holds cultural and architectural significance. It was originally built during the rule of Sultan Habib Shah in the 16th century and has since been reconstructed and preserved. Traditionally built with wood, though restored with reinforced materials in recent decades.
