Hazrat Syed Shah Nimatullah Qadri (RA) was a revered 16th-century Sufi saint who played a pivotal role in establishing the Qadriya Sufi order in Kashmir.

Originating from Kharzam, near the Iran-Iraq border, he arrived in the Kashmir Valley during the reign of the Chak dynasty (1561–1586 CE). Settling in Srinagar, he introduced spiritual practices emphasizing unity, tolerance, and devotion to Allah, transcending communal and social boundaries. His teachings, delivered in Persian, resonated deeply with the local populace, fostering a sense of fraternity and spiritual awakening.

The shrine of Hazrat Syed Shah Nimatullah Qadri is situated in Safakadal, Srinagar. This sacred site attracts numerous devotees, especially during the annual Urs (death anniversary), which is observed with great reverence. The shrine's architecture showcases traditional Kashmiri craftsmanship, including intricate papier-mâché work and Persian inscriptions, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the region.
